Location: McConnell 204
Come by to see the judges final choices for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place! Didn’t submit a solution? Come by and submit your FOOD TICKET for your chance to win sweet prizes at our raffle!!
See you then!
Thank you to everybody who participated in CodeJam this year! We hope you enjoyed the presentations and delish meals. A big thank you to our sponsors for making CodeJam happen as well!
The Problem Formulation Team has met and after a long day of judging and evaluating the solutions, they have finally decided the winners! Closing ceremonies will be sometime on Monday, November 25th — NOT this Friday. The time is still TBA but save the date! Also, don’t forget to bring your green meal ticket as it will be used as your raffle ticket for the Surface tablet, so hold onto that!
See you all Monday!
We had previously told you that submission was at 5PM tonight, but it was a mistake. SUBMISSIONS ARE OFFICIALLY DUE AT 8PM TONIGHT!!!!!
Please familiarize yourself on how to use Open Shift to submit your final solution!
We will not be accepting submissions in other ways. If you are still having issues with Open Shift, the Problem Formulation Team will be able to clarify any problems you are having. To come in contact with them, email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Prior to submitting your solution, you must fill out a submission form. These can be picked up in the ECSESS lounge in Trottier 1060. THIS SHOULD BE HANDED IN BY 8PM TO A CODEJAM COMMITTEE MEMBER!
Lunch will be served at 1pm in the Trottier lobby. Good luck to all!
Just another reminder that
all solutions must be presented through Open Shift!
A tutorial on using Open Shift is found in the CodeJam ZIP file, but is also available in PDF form. The solution is due at 8 PM TOMORROW, so please familiarize yourselves with this!
1. The problem states 12 hour prediction but it is actually 16 hours. Hopefully that does not affect what you have designed.
2. The PDF version of using the pulse API is attached here alongside the ZIP file for the problem.
3. Snackage chips, bagels and leftover food from lunch is available at Trottier 1060. We’ll be here so come get sustenance if you need it. No more coffee though, sorry.
4. KEEP THAT GREEN TICKET SAFE. Like Frodo guarding the one ring. The number on that ticket will be your raffle number for a chance to win one of our raffle prizes. This ticket must be kept safe till NEXT FRIDAY, which is when the closing ceremonies will be held at *save the dateee!*
5. Video of opening ceremony is out and can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDXbNwkRQIY&noredirect=1
6. Dinner is at 6pm today. PIZZAA!
Due to the amount of people writing midterms, or other things during the time of the opening ceremonies, many people were not able to attend–but don’t fret! Thanks the Plumbers’ Station, we were able to record the entire thing, including the company presentations!
Catch it here on YouTube.
Don’t forget dinner will be served in the Trottier lobby at 6pm tonight via Bella Donna Pizza!
Lunch will be served at 1pm in the Trottier lobby today courtesy of Basha!
Don’t forget any clarification questions can be sent to email@example.com.
-The CodeJam committee
CodeJam has officially begun! Thanks to all those who showed up for the opening ceremonies. We heard some great speakers from Kronos, Morgan Stanely, and Ericsson. For those who missed the opening ceremonies, don’t forget that the Plumbers’ Station will be broadcasting the recording sometime tomorrow, so stay tuned for that!
Now the moment you’ve all been waiting for: the problem for this year! The documents and descriptions can be found at this link.
Good luck to all and may the odds be ever in your favor!
Don’t forget to join us for breakfast tomorrow in the Trottier lobby for 9am! Bagels, muffins, and coffee will be served.

Some new updates to report:
We are happy to announce that there will be a raffle with the chance to win a SURFACE TABLET courtesy of Microsoft!
It has come to our attention that there might be some exam and event conflicts for the 15th of November and because of this a number of you will not be able to make the opening ceremony and problem statement presentation. Do not worry! With the assistance of the Plumber’s station, we will be recording the problem statement briefing so that you can rewatch it when you have the time and still be a part of this awesome event!
We have 2 speaker workshops lined up for you happening this Wednesday:
1. Using PhoneGap to build cross platform mobile apps
2. Using Unity to build cross platform games
Presented by Rami Sayar, the founder of the CodeJam @ McGill! Both workshops will be held back to back so you can choose which one you would like to stay for but we recommend staying for both! These will be taking place on November 13th, 6:30-8:30pm in Trottier 3120. Come by and learn some useful tips and tricks from a former winner of the CodeJam!
We are still taking your $10 payment in the ECSESS Lounge in Trottier 1060, so come pay now to secure your spot! Get stoked!
-Your loving CodeJam Committee
